I Thought I Saw Your Face Today ~ She & Him
This is what I look like:
It is therefore understandable that I would ask an aesthetician to "fix my face." Enter Melinda, of Glow Skin Care and Lashes. She suggested Collagen Induction for some of my acne scars. Here is what you need to know about Collagen Induction: it involves needles. Here is what you need to know about me: I am a baby when it comes to needles. Fortunately, the whole needle thing was totally no big deal. If you have ever gotten a facial where they have done extractions, extractions are more painful. True story. So if the whole needle element makes you nervous to try collagen induction, rest assured you will be just fine. Give it a try.
Actual real before and after pictures to follow.........
I feel compelled to tell you (parentals), that I did not spend any money on any of the services mentioned in this post. There was a trade of services involved. So there.

Ten On Tuesday
Today I got to talk to my big sister on the phone not once, but twice! It was like winning the lottery twice in one day. During our first conversation, we discussed something that continually plagues us both: The John Mayer Problem. The John Mayer Problem has been discussed on this blog before. It is the problem of loving his music while simultaneously finding his public behavior so distasteful that we hate to admit we love his music. The John Mayer Problem is the second cousin to the Alec Baldwin Is Hilariously Awesome On 30 Rock Problem.
All that being said, I have been listening to the new John Mayer album and I do think it has a lot of good stuff going on.
And so now I present:
10 New Songs I am enjoying:
1. Age of Worry, John Mayer
2. Shadow Days, John Mayer
3. Born and Raised, John Mayer
4. A Face to Call Home, John Mayer
5. Bright Lights, Gary Clark Jr.
6. Don't Owe You a Thang, Gary Clark Jr.
7. Things Are a Changin', Gary Clark Jr.
8. When My Train Pulls In, Gary Clark Jr.
9. Twisted, Usher (feat Pharrell)
10. You Know Who You Are, Oddisee

Friday Finds
Suzy Krause + the skyscrapers: I ❤ her About page. Kinda the best one I have ever seen. Ever.
This article by Peter Bregman is one of the best things I have read this week. And it should make me want to just be quiet. Blog no more. But it doesn't. Affirm my existence, dear readers. Affirm my existence.
I think the problem is that everybody just showers too much. Genius solution: stop being such germphobes. Shower less. Smell more.

Library Loving - Farenheit 451
Ray Bradbury died today. I find this very saddening as Fahrenheit 451 was some of the best required reading I ever experienced in school. It should not just be school curriculum. It should be life curriculum. If you have not read it, do so. I, for my part, am going to make it my mission to read it again.
And for those of you non-readers, the book was serialized on the pages of Playboy Magazine. Just read it for the pictures.
Full disclosure: I have not read the book since Junior High so I can not remember if it has any offensive bits but since it was required reading in JUNIOR HIGH, I am going to go out on a limb and guess that it is fairly clean.

It's a Man's World ~ James Brown
I started a new job. Much like all of the other jobs, I have no plans to discuss my job on this blog.
Life rule.
Except to say that at this job, I get to spend all day with Denzel (my laptop). And something about being able to use my personal prized possession at work is totally golden for me.
I will also say that I had forgotten how consuming it is to work full time (+1 part-time gig). I know, I know - you all work full time. It is ridiculous that this is even a thought that crosses my mind. But the thing is, I prioritize my life thusly: 1. All else. 2. Me. So anything that only affects me such as washing dishes, doing laundry, eating, and sleeping are always shoved into the little crevices of my life where I can not see them and have a tendency to just forget them all together. Until it is Tuesday and people are scheduled to come over and OH NO! PEOPLE MAY NOT ENTER THIS HOME! IT IS AN ABOMINATION!
And then you find yourself washing your dishes at someone else's house until after midnight. (Yes. That happened. I do not know how.)
But I do really love my new job. So there's that.

Ten on Tuesday
He's got soul and he's super bad.
I do not have ten songs for you today. What I do have is a very firm conviction that if you listen to James Brown's live recordings and do not become obsessed, you might be a zombie. You should check into that.
In related news, James Brown is super creepy looking. See what I mean here: http://youtu.be/4Fd8_gojNXc
